Paradoxically, the closer we get to our deepest essence, the more our ego consciousness dissipates and we find something much more vast and mysterious
Hey, I’m Lina, or should I say, my name is Lina. We are so much more than our personal identity.
Understanding and helping people has always been important to me. Since I was a child, I wanted that this planet would become a better place for everyone.
I’ve always been curious about understand the meaning of life. Why are we here and what are we supposed to be doing? Assumably, no clear answer has been found, at least not yet. However, yoga, meditation and sound have brought me closer to this mystery we call life. Through experience we expand ourselves and thus our consciousness. I believe that the deeper we dive into ourselves, the more balanced and loving this planet will become.
Yoga, meditation and breathing practices have a close place in my heart because by breathing and moving consciously we return to ourselves and to the present moment. They are also great tools for self-reflection. Additionally we need balancing and calming practices in the hustle and bustle of today’s world. Conscious relaxation practices are essential in maintaining the balance of our nervous system as well as our overall health.
My intuition took me to New Zealand on a working holiday visa in 2017 where I completed my first yoga teacher training.
I didn’t feel I was ready to teach others yet because I didn’t have enough understanding of people’s different needs. I wanted to deepen my knowledge of the human body and its functions. Yoga philosophy also excited me. As if I was re-acquainted with something old and familiar. After New Zealand, I took advanced training in Hawaii, Budapest, England and Amsterdam.
I love travelling and getting to know new cultures
Living in a bicultural environment has taught me how to identify with different beliefs, customs and thought patterns. My mother is Finnish and father Palestinian so distinct and opposite cultural influences have both challenged and matured me. It’s also vital to me that the yoga world is open to and understanding of all minorities, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender and/or sexual identity.
There are many different styles of yoga so there will always be suitable practices for your current life situation. What your body needs also varies from moment to moment and day to day so it’s really important to me that we find the most suitable practices that suit you at any given time.
Paradoxically, the closer we get to our deepest essence, the more our ego consciousness dissipates and we find something much more vast and mysterious
